Madea’s Legendary Warning to His Girl’s New Boyfrien
In many of Tyler Perry’s movies, Madea often gives tough but heartfelt lessons to the young man coming to meet her granddaughter. She usually jokingly threatens him to make it clear that he must respect the girl. One very famous scene is where Madea says to the guy: “Raise your hand if you’ve ever been beaten with a switch!” She does this to scare him and to show that she’s not afraid to use force if he hurts her granddaughter.
But that’s not all. Madea also tests the boy with other provocative questions, like “Will you bring the girl back before midnight?” or “Do you plan to call her ‘wifey’ too soon?” She beats her chest and says, “I’m the old lady who can’t sleep at night when my granddaughter is out with a boy I don’t know.” And in the end, she always ends with an unforgettable warning: “If you break her heart, I’ll break your neck – and I know how to make it look like an accident.” It’s exactly these kinds of scenes that make Madea so beloved by audiences: tough on the outside, but filled with love and fierce protection for her family.
