Japanese Ad..l. Star Rae Lil Black Converts to Islam After Visiting Malaysia
Kae Asakura, widely known as Rae Lil Black, was once recognized for her bold public image and strong presence in Japan’s entertainment world. With millions of people following her online, few expected the dramatic turn her life would eventually take.
In 2024, she visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a trip that would become an important chapter in her personal journey. While exploring the city, she spent time visiting mosques, meeting local Muslims, and learning about their culture. Wearing a hijab during some of these visits, she later shared that she felt welcomed, respected, and surprisingly at peace.
What began as simple curiosity gradually turned into something deeper. As she continued spending time in Malaysia, she started learning more about Islam. She read about its teachings, asked questions, and reflected on what she was discovering. The more she learned, the more connected she felt to the faith.
Over time, that interest grew into a personal decision. Later in 2024, she publicly announced that she had embraced Islam and taken the name Nuray Istiqbal. She also revealed that she had left her previous career behind and was choosing a different direction for her future.
Since then, she has shared parts of that journey with her followers. Her social media now often features moments from her daily life, including wearing modest clothing and a hijab, observing Ramadan, visiting mosques, and reading the Quran.
For many people, her story is a reminder that life can take unexpected turns. Sometimes a single journey, a new environment, or a willingness to learn can lead someone toward a completely different path than the one they once imagined.
